Hoover Dam Kayak Adventure

Best Hoover Dam Kayak Tour from Las Vegas! We launch on Lake Mead and paddle the vessels up to the dam, just under a mile from launch point to the mighty Hoover Dam. Great spot for some pictures of you and your friends/family with the dam as your background!

The drive to the launch point is approximately 32 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, and your entertaining guide will fill you in on Las Vegas and Boulder City history. We will pass over the new Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge on the way to Lake Mead. Lake Mead was the first National Recreation Area, dedicated in 1964, and is the largest man made Lake in the Western Hemisphere.

The cool, clear waters of Lake Mead provide perfect paddling conditions, and the surrounding mountains provide great scenery!

Snorkeling and Fishing Gear are available at no cost, but if you plan to fish, you need to purchase a Fishing License. Licenses are available onine at the Nevada Department of Wildlife Website, please read all instructions clearly because you need a 'stamp' as well as the license. If you don't have access to a printer after purchasing your license online, please email our office and we can print it out for you and send with your guide.

A stop at Hoover Dam is included in this adventure, including Visitor's Center Entrance with lots of exhibits and displays about the history of this major structure. Walk along the sidewalks of the Dam and take a picture with one foot in Nevada and one in Arizona! This does NOT include the Powerplant or Over/Under Tour.

Vessel are new Liquid Logic Versa Boards, a hybrid that combines a traditional sit down kayak with the new Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP). You decide how you want to paddle, and the provided seat flips up or down with ease.  The spring loaded skeg system, with conveniently located lever, gives you complete control over your paddling experience.

  • 12 or older to paddle solo, 6 or older to paddle tandem with adult
  • Under 18 must have parent or guardian present
  • Wear/bring layers and quick drying clothing (not cotton)
  • River Sandals/Water Shoes
  • Change of clothing for after tour
